Ponds

Learning about managing ponds takes time and effort. We read a lot about it and had a fish survey & shock done on our ‘Old pond’ and a biologist give us a fish assessment. But pond management is just like land management in that you are really only limited by your own imagination. You can build a fishing pier or dock, place fish structure habitat in the pond to improve fish habitat, dig some deeper spots by renting a mini excavator, add things like large stones or concrete blocks to make more cover for the tiny fish and for more surface areas for plankton to grow on. The list goes on, but there is quite a bit that you can do to improve upon most any pond. Click on the images below to watch videos of the action.
